You’ll be amazed at discovering the beautiful views and the peaceful hilly landscape that lies so close to Bologna, yet feels so removed.
For experienced walkers, I offer the option to do a loop to explore on foot the famous ‘colli bolognesi’. From the gardens of an 18th century villa, we’ll walk up to reach a park where we’ll enjoy panoramic vistas of Bologna, the surrounding hills, and a unique perspective on the famous Portico and Basilica di San Luca. We’ll continue walking deep in the hills until we reach the Sanctuary and descend via the landmark Portico di San Luca. You’ll learn about an area that once teemed with life and agricultural activities, dotted with villages and parish churches, and about the legend of the icon of the Madonna di San Luca, which, after nine centuries, still holds a special place in the heart of the Bolognesi.
