The hikes in the hills have been as memorable as Piazza Maggiore or the Morandi museum. It was wonderful to contemplate from afar not only the magnificent landscape of porticoes, roofs and towers, but the fields and farms all around, get another feeling and understanding of the city and its history with Silvia’s comments and explanations. She is an enthusiastic, warm and knowledgeable guide, respectful of one’s abilities in hiking (mine, in that case!) and the soft mist of November, the cool air, the lavish colors of fall, made our walks magical. Thank you again, dear Silvia, I can’t wait being on one of your tours again!

We had a fantastic guided walking tour with Silvia during our stay in Bologna. The route took in some spectacular views of the city whilst contrasting with the natural beauty of the surrounding hills and countryside. Silvia was extremely knowledgeable and her English was perfect. Thank you for a special morning.

It was wonderful to share this beautiful and inspiring walk with someone like Silvia who clearly has a passion for her city and a love of walking and hiking. It was also great that we happened to do this walk on a Sunday morning along with hundreds of Bologna residents. My family and I would highly recommend Silvia as a guide and hopefully we’ll return to complete a longer hike with her.

I enjoyed the Valsamoggia tour very much. It was so nice to have the opportunity to see the beautiful countryside outside of Bologna and learn more about the region. Silvia was knowledgeable about the history and geography. The hike was moderate and Silvia was careful to ensure that the pace suited my level of experience. The luncheon was excellent and the conversation delightful. I would definitely recommend any tour with Silvia.

My teenage daughter and I visited Bologna for several days in the beginning of June and were lucky enough to be put in contact with Silvia for a bit of the outdoors. While we enjoyed the guided tours of the churches and the history of the city, it was so nice to get out of the city center and see some of the surrounding area. Silvia took us to an old farmhouse that is being restored for a fun cooking class where we made everything from scratch and most of the ingredients came right from the garden on the property. Then we got to enjoy what we made for lunch – very fun and very delicious!
We also walked the Portico di San Luca with Silvia to the Basilica on the top of the hill where we had amazing views of the city and surrounds. It was a little bit of a hike, but we loved being able to get a bit of exercise while hearing the history of this incredible site.
Both my daughter and I enjoyed our time with Silvia immensely and both commented to each other when we got home that this was a highlight of our trip! She was fabulous and we would both recommend spending some time with Silvia to see another side of Bologna that you might not otherwise see.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have found Silvia’s website while we were planning a trip to Italy. I sent Silvia an email requesting more information about her services and fees. Her response was timely and very professional.
Based on this initial interaction, I decided to have a video conference with Silvia to personalize our tour itinerary. Please note that the video conference is not free – there is a nominal fee to compensate Silvia for her time. I found it to be incredibly valuable to discuss my personal goals for the trip in detail, explore the various tour options Silvia offers, and the logistics of visiting Bologna. I HIGHLY recommend that you engage Silvia for a one hour planning session to develop your itinerary when visiting Bologna. We did the video conference roughly six months before our travels began. Based on Silvia’s recommendations, my wife and I opted to do a 1/2 day tour of Bologna on the afternoon of our arrival, focusing on the food and wine of Bologna. The next day we did a full day tour of the areas surrounding Bologna where we visited hill towns, villages, and had a fabulous lunch at an agriturismo in the countryside, all organized by Silvia.
Silvia was in contact with us prior to our arrival in Bologna – just to make sure our trip was progressing well. We made final arrangements for a meeting place and time. Sure enough Silvia arrived on time (actually early). We found Silvia to be incredibly personable, and knowledgeable. Her enthusiasm for Bologna is remarkable and infectious. On our first tour we explored all through the historic city center of Bologna and had a fabulous time. Our second tour was a very different experience, but every bit as enjoyable. We left the hubbub of central Bologna and drove out into the countryside. The scenery is spectacular, as were the small towns and villages we visited. As mentioned above, we had lunch at an agriturismo picked by Silvia. The delicious, artisanal food was of the highest quality and all locally sourced.
Because Silvia took the time to understand our travel wishlist and desires she was able to construct a perfect itinerary for our short time in Bologna. We had an absolutely great visit, all due to Silvia. We highly recommend Silvia to anyone considering even a short visit to Bologna.
